Something off? A human answers.
Tell us what happened, which app it was and your macOS version. A screenshot helps. We know a good app for that.
Got_it can’t capture my screen
macOS needs to give it permission. Open System Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Screen & System Audio Recording, and turn on Got_it. If macOS asks you to, quit and reopen the app.
What are the shortcuts?
- ⌘⇧2
- Capture an area
- ⌘⇧1
- Capture a window
- ⌘⇧9
- Capture the full screen
- ⌘⇧8
- Capture the last area again
If one clashes with another app, change it in Settings, under Shortcuts.
Where did my screenshot go?
Got_it saves each capture automatically to your save folder. You can see or change that folder in Settings, under General.
I closed the editor by accident, or my Mac crashed
Reopen Got_it. It keeps recovery drafts of unfinished work and offers them back. Drafts are purged after 14 days, and Private mode turns them off.
How do I hide something sensitive properly?
Use Blur, Pixelate or Solid black in the editor. The image you share contains only the processed pixels. An untouched original may also be saved on your Mac, so use Private mode for anything truly sensitive.
